A practical service scope

From the first question
to the next step.

01 / Baseline

Understand your current footprint.

Review priority topics, your public business information and a documented sample of relevant AI search responses.

02 / Evidence-led content

Make expertise attributable.

Develop clear explanations, original examples and properly attributed sources, supported by your subject experts.

03 / Entity consistency

Tell one coherent story.

Align service descriptions and business information across your site and agreed owned profiles; review changes over time.

A clear brief.
No blurred boundaries.

AI answers vary by platform, prompt, location and time. Visibility monitoring is directional; we do not promise citations or claim to control model training.

The service in detail

GEO for a clearer, better supported presence in AI-powered discovery.

Generative engine optimisation examines how your business and expertise appear in AI search experiences. We focus on the information a visitor can verify: a clear service offer, consistent business details, original knowledge and accessible sources.

What the agreed scope can include

  • A documented discovery baseline across agreed topics and platforms, with prompts, dates, responses and cited URLs.
  • A content and evidence gap review covering service clarity, company information and genuinely useful first-hand material.
  • A prioritised improvement plan and repeat observations, with results separated by platform rather than combined into an unexplained score.

How the work moves

A process you can follow.

01

Define what matters

Choose commercial questions relevant to your actual services. Establish whether the task is brand discovery, a service comparison or understanding a specific business capability.

02

Strengthen the source material

Improve explanations and connect claims to evidence you can publish. Align company facts across agreed owned profiles and support subject matter with named expertise when available.

03

Observe and interpret carefully

Repeat a documented set of checks, record variation and compare with search and enquiry data. A citation, an unlinked mention and a referral visit are different signals.

Relevant team experience

Illustrative evidence gap / a broad agency claim

What that looks like in practice.

“We do digital marketing” gives little basis for a recommendation. A useful service page explains the buyer, deliverables and working method, then links to relevant work and the people responsible when that evidence is available.

Illustrative approach, not a client case study or a claim of results.

How we review value

Measure the right things.

Report observations with their context: platform, query, date, source and outcome. Use available first-party search reports and referral analytics alongside manual checks. AI answers vary and attribution is incomplete, so sampled mentions should not be presented as total market coverage.

Frequently asked questions

Useful answers.
Before you decide.

Can GEO get our business into ChatGPT or other AI answers?

It can improve the underlying information and make your public expertise clearer. It cannot guarantee that a platform will mention or recommend you. Each platform controls retrieval, generation and citations.

Is GEO separate from SEO?

The scopes overlap. Crawlable, useful pages and coherent internal links remain foundations. We use GEO to describe platform-aware observation and evidence work, not a replacement for SEO.

Do we need an llms.txt file?

Google says llms.txt does not help or harm visibility in its search features because it does not use it. Other systems may have different practices; any implementation should have a specific supported purpose.

Can you influence AI training data?

We do not promise inclusion in model training or claim control over it. Live search retrieval, generated answers and training are different processes and should not be confused in reporting.

How do you assess visibility?

We agree topics and platforms, document prompts and cited sources, and repeat checks consistently. Where available, we use first-party reporting and referral data to add context.

Will more pages improve AI visibility?

More pages alone do not establish usefulness or credibility. We prioritise distinct questions, original evidence and clear service information, and avoid creating near-duplicate pages for prompt variations.
